Project Art Works is the UK’s leading artist led organisation for children, young people and adults with complex support needs. Their programmes and projects help provide freedom and purpose through art.
Philip Warford from Renaissance Legal has been invited to present a seminar to their peer support network to talk about Decision Making to help families plan for the future.
Philip will talk to parents and carers about what the future might hold when their child turns 18. The key principles are that no one has the right to make decisions on behalf of a person when they become an adult, the reality of this is not so clear cut.
Philip talks about the ideas around mental capacity and what families and carers need to consider and actions they can take.
Philip will then explain Powers of Attorney and the Court of Protection, he will guide families on the options available and importance of not putting off these decisions.
