On 25 January Philip Warford is speaking to families and Carers at West Sussex Parent Carer Forum about Mental Capacity, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection.
WSPCF help parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities to improve and make positive changes to the lives of their families and others. They do this by providing information, support and training to enable them to take part in helping to shape local services and make a difference in West Sussex. For further information click here.
At this seminar, Philip will talk about what happens if you are a parent or carer of a young person who may not be able to make decisions about their welfare and finances now or in the near future. He will talk about the key principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and how best to protect vulnerable loved ones as they move through adulthood. Philip will go on to talk about Powers of Attorney and appointing someone to make decisions on behalf of a person with a disability. He will also cover the Court of Protection, who they are, what they do, timescales and their charges. For more information or to book a place click here.
