WSPCF – Wills & Trust Seminar (Jun)

Wednesday 9 June @ 6.30pm

Arrangements to be confirmed.

WSPCF help parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with additional needs and disabilities to improve and make positive changes to the lives of their families and others. They do this by providing information, support and training to enable them to take part in helping to shape local services and make a difference in West Sussex. For further information click here

Philip will talk about how families can protect a disabled child if they are no longer there to care for them using carefully prepared Wills and Trusts.

Although many people already have a standard Will in place, they often don’t realise that leaving a cash sum to a disabled person could impact their entitlement to means tested benefits or put the disabled person at risk of financial abuse. Philip will talk through the Trust options available to families to ensure their vulnerable loved one is protected throughout their lifetime, and their entitlement to benefits are safeguarded.

Other topics that will be covered are:

  • The importance of making a Will
  • Choosing Trustees & Executors
  • Your Letter of Wishes, how it works
  • Leaving Gifts in a Will
  • How to prepare for your Solicitor’s meeting
